requalification of PCDO green areas in milan

← Back to the Portfolio

The PCDO is a large complex built in order to provide aid to people with physical issues . It was built during the 40’ and never completed in its initial project. The open space marked by parking spaces and green remaining spaces were unsuited to the complex and didn’t have a uniform vision. The aim was to make them more liveable and to give them an identity which was conform to the characteristic ‘900 architecture of Milan, whose the “Don Orione” is a well know example.

The project consists of two phases: 1 – redevelopment of the garden and reorganisation of parking spaces; 2 – the churchyard and the entrance area
The materials and the details link all the individual part of the project with same colours and same textures.
Benches and other furniture as well as facilities allow the proper use of the different spaces other than improving social relationships.
